Tales from Etheraz: Kyran’s 4/11 Adventure Day Recap

Greetings, brawlers, bards, and businessmen!

I, ATLAS THE BARD, am deep in the woods fighting Hollowed. My trusty correspondent for the group of adventurers known as the PC Party (Kyran Greyling) has fought bravely to continue sending me word of their exploits! He will be paid in ETERNAL GLORY and two copper I found in my pocket. Here, I have enclosed his letter on one of the party’s recent encounters:

[Transcript: Hello Atlas,
When we were heading to Niv’s Fort we ran into Risuka, she said she had a way to bring ASTE back. She needed some magic items to power the ritual. She also needed pieces of someone’s soul. Both Ez and Akela gave up pieces of theirs. He’s back now, he seems about as alright as he could be, given the situation. Risuka also asked us to look into the Rusecryst.
When we got back to the Fort with Amon, Niv’s soldiers tried to put him in chains again. We couldn’t let that happen but also couldn’t give an explanation without revealing we were from the Coalition. They kept questioning and Niv told them the truth. A surprising amount stayed, including Sergeant Willem. Didn’t expect that from him. I underestimated Niv’s soldiers loyalty to her. Aquilis and Kilgore both tried to leave. Aquilis was killed by Niv and Kilgore was knocked out and dragged back. I disagree with how that was handled but it’s Commander Niv’s decision not mine.
We got Amon to a bed and got a doctor to look at him. Judge Sable arrived at Niv’s fort. He got a letter from Truett on behalf of the Arancis Independence Movement. Truett said the Independence Movement has support from House Wyrhyot, King’s Shadow, House Luv, and possibly the Woodfolk. He is suggesting an alliance to deal with Valens, Sanari, and Blakka because neither of us has the people or resources to face them alone. He said emissaries from the Coalition would be welcomed in King’s Shadow. I don’t trust the Independence Movement and I definitely don’t trust Truett but they have soldiers and we need soldiers. I don’t like it but allying with them is our best option. Duncan Luv showed up, Amon yelled at him for leaving for 6 Trihelials. Duncan thanked us for saving Amon and offered to build us a weapon using Rusecryst. Only useful thing he’s ever done.
Duncan was trying to get the Woodfolk to join the Arancis Independence Movement and fight for them. Apparently his grandfather had worked with them in the past. He kept talking about how Corvis and Simoon shouldn’t be in Arancis despite the fact that Luv isn’t from Arancis either. They came in on the same expedition as the rest of us. The Woodfolk said they would prefer to talk to Amon, we told them he was too injured and they told us to nail a skull to a tree when he’s ready to talk. They also mentioned something about werewolves. Duncan told me afterwards that he wasn’t one. Strange that he felt like he needed to clarify that.
Niv found out that Sylvana was the Desire loyalist. Ez, ASTE, and Agarion got her and her brother out of Bradvlad and sent them South before Niv found them.
Valens sent someone to Bradvlad to investigate the murder of Elia Corvis. He already knows who killed Elia, he ordered her to do it. He sent someone to investigate because he’s trying to blame it on the Independence Movement. We talked to the person Valens sent for a bit, Ez started to imply that she was the one who killed Elia and the person ran. She was chased down and knocked out by ASTE. I don’t understand why some people’s first reaction is always violence. She was already leaving and Valens already knows Ez killed Elia. The only thing that’s changed is now we’ve attacked one of Valens’ people. I healed her and she ran off into the Vale. She dropped two letters. One of them was notes on what she had heard from Valens. It said that she was coming from the Bowers, I’m assuming that’s where Valens is currently. Valens has been saying that the Independence Movement is the biggest concern, not Blakka. The second letter was from Valens to his family at the Estates. It said that the Lodge has been dissolved and he is requesting his family’s aid in the Bowers. He also said that he thinks he can find ways to use the time warping of the Vault in the future. He suspects that the Coalition is working with the Independence Movement and he is going to contact Judge Sable to request his aid. I showed Judge Sable the letter and he said that he is going to try to convince Valens that we are on his side.
We are currently heading to the West Gate. The weapon Duncan made is unstable and will most likely need to be fixed, some of us have been trained on how to do that. We are going to try to get close enough to the Gate to use the catapult to collapse the entrance to the Delves and cut off their supplies.

THANK YOU, KYRAN, for your constant vigilance, excellently-written letters, and journalistic integrity!
Until next time, dear readers. Remember: fight together, or die alone.
