Hello, adoring fans and readers!
I, ATLAS THE BARD, am stuck in a tree. At the bottom of said tree? Hollowed. As a result, I am too occupied with danger to report on the PC Party’s happenings. BUT, I received a letter from my fabulous informant and comrade Kyran Greyling to share, so fear not!! I have enclosed his letter below, and you all can take heart in knowing the party is working to help Arancis.

Transcript:
Hello Atlas,
Hope you’re doing well. We’ve been at Commander Niv’s Fort for a bit over a month now, her soldiers haven’t stabbed any of us yet so that’s probably a good sign. Ez keeps trying to antagonize the soldiers, especially Willem. It’s fun to watch but we’re already on bad terms with him and making it worse isn’t a good idea. He hasn’t actually done anything other than be a general nuisance and interrogate Katrinka, and Ez was bothering him before that. I don’t like that he did that, I get that he’s just doing his job but so am I. I have to protect my group, and while I may not like it, for now that includes Katrinka.
I asked her why she used to be a Lodge Member, she said she didn’t know the Fear Elixir was going to be used that way and that she had just been hired to do a job. I find it hard to believe that she didn’t know what she was doing. It’s called the Fear Elixir and she developed the method of harvesting it. You can’t create a machine that harvests people’s fear and say that you “Didn’t know.” After all that the thing she created has done to the Bowers she doesn’t get to act like it was just an accident.
I told Katrinka Valens is after her, she said that she doesn’t know why he would be after her but that it probably has something to do with what she knows. Most likely either the Hollowed Cure or Fear Elixir. Ez accidentally admitted to killing Elia Corvis in front of a bunch of Niv’s soldiers, Niv handled it but still. We all need to be more careful about what we say in front of them.
We found a journal entry written by Sergeant Hale on Tri.296, Second Phase, 13th day, that said Commander Niv had killed at least a hundred of her own soldiers, claiming they were working with Desire. That doesn’t seem like the actual reason, a hundred of her soldiers working for Desire seems like a lot, and Sergeant Hale said some of them didn’t seem like they would. Either there’s another reason or Desire is much more of a problem than I thought.
One of Niv’s soldiers, Aquilus, was telling stories again. Apparently he used to work directly under the Lord Commander, and according to him the Lord Commander has a hat collection. I have never seen him wear a hat, he already has a mask, why would he need a hat? He’s very clearly lying but at least his stories are entertaining.
Niv told her soldiers that we are going to get Amon Luv because executing him would be a waste when he could be used as leverage. I don’t understand why her soldiers aren’t more suspicious of that. They might think it’s for Blakka but they are still going against orders from the Lord Commander. I’d be suspicious in their position but it works in our favor so I’m not going to think about it too much. I feel bad about bringing Amon straight from a Blakka prison to a Blakka Fort but we don’t have much choice.
– Kyran Greyling
Everyone, give Kyran a huge round of applause for his consistently incredible correspondence and for keeping Arancis’ eager readers updated! I’ll see you all on the other side. Until then: fight together, or die alone.
Signed,
