COVID Safety Policies

This policy is subject to change if the number of COVID 19 cases begins to rise rapidly in Massachusetts. Please contact us to check what the policies are for a specific event.

Afterschool classes and day camps hosted by our community partners follow the partner program’s rules.

The following protocols are specific to LAP weekend events, residential camp, HS LARP classes, and guild nights but for simplicity will be referred to as events for the rest of this page.

    General Policies

    Vaccination

    • Vaccination is optional but highly encouraged.
      • LARP Adventure Program respects your right to choose whether or not to get your youth vaccinated against COVID 19. However, we do request that you inform us if your child remains unvaccinated for health reasons so we can plan accordingly.
      • Vaccination does not entirely prevent the spread of COVID but it has been proven to significantly reduces some individuals’ chances of hospitalization and long-term side effects. For this reason, we may use stricter safety measures to prevent transmission to unvaccinated youth during our events. These measures will be determined before the start of each specific event.

    Masks

    • Masks are optional for vaccinated participants both indoors and outdoors, but are highly encouraged especially in times when case numbers surge.
    • Unvaccinated participants are required to mask indoors but outdoor mask requirements will be determined before the start of each specific event.

    Overnight Events & Sleeping Arrangements

    • ALL participants, regardless of their COVID status, are required to present a photo of a negative COVID test at drop off AND to email that photo to office@larpadventureprogram.com
      • Please note: Emails may not be received before the start of the event so bringing a picture to present at drop off is required as it will streamline the check-in process.
      • The photo must include the date and time of when the test was taken.
    • Test results must be from tests taken within 24 hours of the check-in time, preferably taken in the 3-4 hours before check-in.
    • We will conduct daily wellness checks on all participants.
    • Unvaccinated participants will be required to provide negative COVID-19 rapid tests each morning of the event as well as at check-in. Unvaccinated participants must bring their own antigen tests from home.
    • Unvaccinated participants are encouraged to purchase tenting tickets to events to reduce possible exposure in a cabin while sleeping.

If you have been exposed to COVID

and you are vaccinated and have no symptoms

    • you may attend an event that is scheduled less than 11 days from the date of exposure under the following conditions:
      • Masks are required to be worn inside and outside when in close contact with other participants for the duration of the event.

        • The photo must include the date and time of when the test was taken.

Please note: The date of last exposure is considered day 0. If you are exposed again the count starts over from the next exposure date.

If you test positive for COVID before an event

You may not attend any of our events for 5 days from the date of your first positive test (whether or not you have had symptoms). The day you test positive is considered day 0.

After 5 days you may be allowed to attend an event if you can meet all of the following criteria:

    • You have tested negative with a rapid antigen test and sent a photo of those results to office@larpadventureprogram.com. This should be sent to us as soon as possible so that we can make arrangements for you to attend the event safely.

      • The photos must include the date and time of when the test was taken.
      • Test results must be from tests taken within 24 hours of the check-in time, preferably taken in the 3-4 hours before check-in.
